Union City Bart Improvements
Using a hunk of state sales tax dollars, this is a joint funded project with the 'Fedral' Government. Apparently money wasn't used in proofreading the sign, so they will be able to spend those extra dollars in making sure the parking lot is even better than it was.

Blommer Chocolate Factory
The Bommer Chocolate Factory. They make chocolate and the smell wafts over the city. We've been known to stop at one stop sign right around the corner from Blommer and just sit with the windows down while they're brewing up a batch of chocolate.

BART Parking
The future new extended BART parking lot. The only problem is that the BART station is on the other side of the train tracks. And the fence with barbed wire on top. And the BART tracks. How will it work out? Nobody knows yet.

Alameda Creek Trail
For this week's photo, I took a journey, at no small personal expence to the Alameda Creek Trail. The parking lot, or "Staging Area" as the East Bay Regional Parks District calls it is at the end of Lowry Road, behind Fire Station #4. I looked at the map, and it didn't seem like such a far distance, but once I go there and picked up a map, I found that it is 3.91 miles. Some day, I'll have to prepare for an eight mile hike and go all the way out to the bay.
For this journey, I walked a little further than a mile for this shot, at the Alameda Creek Ponding Area, looking back across the city of Union City towards the Hayward Hills.

Union City Trail
The Union City Trail crosses Royal Ann Drive here, just a block away from the Union City Civic Center. During the wet season, the dry canal is filled with storm water, but in June, it's bone dry.

Space Station
The first posting in the Union City, CA Weekly Photo Blog. We begin with the huge mystery building between the bus depot and Alvarado-Niles Road. What's it going to be? SkyVentures. Indoor skydiving.

In the mean time, here is my Technorati Profile.
